When was the last time that you cleaned your wallet? Chances are, you probably haven’t.
At a daily rate, wallets are pulled out of coats, pants, bags and with the addition of money, probably the dirtiest item we will come into contact with, so over time, they are bound to collect dirt and germs - it’s just hard to tell how dirty it is.
It’s quite simple to clean a wallet and doesn’t take too much time to complete, all you need is antibacterial wipes, leather cleaner and leather conditioner. You can also pick up some leather cleansing wipes, which are a handy alternative to having to use a cloth and conditioner.
- Empty the entire contents of your wallet. We’re talking cards, photos, cash, ID and even that 5-year-old receipt from the gas station that you keep meaning to throw but don’t!
- Go around the wallet with the antibacterial wipes, through all the nooks and crannies. After all, cash is the dirtiest item you will come across on a daily basis and you never know about the level of bacteria that could be lurking inside.
- Once you’ve done that, it’s time to dig out the cleaner or even better the leather cleansing wipes. Using a cloth or wipe, rub the cleaner in circles around the wallet, hitting the cracks and different folds as best as you can.
- With the same cloth, apply the leather conditioner around the wallet extensively and then allow it to soak in. This is will freshen the look of it while conditioning it. With a leather cleansing wipe you can do the cleansing and conditioning in 1 step.
Give it a while to dry again and then add all your cards, photos and other pieces that occupy the wallet. Now you’re good to go!
