It’s that time of the year again. Time to restock the fridge full of packed lunch treats and time to head on down to your local stationary store for some fresh filled paper pads!

It’s a stressful time getting the children ready for school, especially after the long summer break of waking up whenever they like. It’s time to get them back on schedule and ready to attack the day. Don’t let this hectic time steal your smile!

One of the most important things you need to consider will be ensuring they have everything they possibly need to get through the day. Let’s start with the essential stationary. To avoid losing all of the perfectly packed pens and pencils for your child make sure you invest in a reliable pencil case! Not only will it hold all the main bits and bobs, but any of those loose sharpening’s and ink spillages you dread to see will be much better off in the case than over all their school attire.

Another important part of the back to school routine is ensuring your child is well prepped for the work! This means making sure they have completed all the necessary homework and summer reading. The best way to do this would be setting up a schedule of reading an hour or two during day or just before bed time to get the children up to speed in good time! Whilst you are making a schedule, it’s also vital to note down any important school dates during the new term.

Now it’s lunchtime! Sending the kids to school with a well-rounded nutritious packed lunch is sometimes difficult, especially with the fussy eaters. If your child is eating hot dinners from school then they’re usually filled with all the right nutrients and vitamins these days with new healthy eating requirements.  As for packed lunches, the typical things to include are usually sandwiches, a small drink, and a snack or two. To motivate your child to eat their full packed lunch it’s a good idea to mix up the snacks on a daily basis to keep their meals exciting. If you’d prefer to avoid chocolate bars and packets of crisps but still want to keep the snacks exciting and bite-size then you could add in little boxes of raisins or a bag with a mix of fruits or yoghurt.

Finally, before you get teary and wave the children goodbye, it’s time to think about how we can make them look their best so they power through the day feeling great. It’s time to delve deep into the wardrobe and check that you’re not so little ones still fit into all their clothes! With new and expensive clothes there comes responsibilities of keeping them tidy, thankfully there are stain removal wipes for a quick spot clean during the week. Whilst you look after them before and after school, the children can also do their part at school by keeping a pack of wipes with them, so they’re handy for any excess food spillages and snotty noses.

And there you have it! Now, as long as you can tick of all the key points discussed today then you’re children are more than ready to take on their next chapters of school life.
