How to turn that dusty creature into a shiny sportshorse?

Many consider horses noble, elegant and beautiful.

However, as they weigh somewhat 500 kilograms or more, their power presents also - if things would go really wrong - an obvious threat of life for a human handling them. The threat that is always present maybe is one of the biological, unconscious reasons for the strong attraction many have for horses, and the variety of sports involving a horse, such as showjumping, dressage, steeplechase, racing… The ancient ability of a human being to convert that power into a seamless cooperation is rewarding - also for the horse, as long as we have good horsemanship in the picture.

What a spectator of a horse sports event sees may look easy and effortless. However, as in any sports, the achievements are always results of years of hard - often literally dirty – work. I’m not going into the details of the long-term training, but focus now on what can be done on shorter term - the aesthetics.

The gorgeous representatives of the Equus caballus we seein the arena were maybe just hours ago covered with mud, sand or dust – if not all three. They might have been sweating as if they had been forgotten in a pouring rain. The shiny and good-smelling tack – like saddle and bridle – the horse proudly carries was perhaps just recently covered with saliva, dust and dirt. The rider has her or his cleaning challenges to be tackled as well, with all the mentioned stuff flying around in the air… So we can well say that the sophisticated couple we see in the arena has likely just undergone a real overnight miracle.

With something as sizeable as a sportshorse, you are better off if you can start making your clean-up miracle with some sturdier tools. A hose, big sponge and shampoo will help remove the worst. But for the desired top-notch look at competition or show, be it for the horse, the tack, or the rider, there’s a good selection of handy helpers. I am of course talking about wipes. Whether you need to clean and maintain the leathery goods, like saddles and bridles; or horse’s coat and tail; or enhance your own looks; just rest assured – there IS a wipe for that.
