We have a few tips about what men can do, and some steps to follow:
Step 1: Where else to start than the basics - cleansing your face. Use a facial wash and a flannel and wash your face to try and get off all of the grime built up from your day. It is suggested that you wash your face every morning and night, but as a starting step wash your face when you come home, and when you are into that routine, add a second face wash in the morning.
Tip: If you don’t have time to wash your face, then a facial wipe will come in handy, but not every day!
Tip: You don't need the most expensive cleanser, a basic face wash will do to start with, and the more you get into cleansing the more you can spend on nice skincare.
Step 2: Exfoliating, the best way to exfoliate your face is to buy a pack of facial exfoliating wipes, this is not only better for the environment because the micro-beads in liquid exfoliators clog up drains, but it’s also quicker when you are in a hurry!
Tip: Don’t exfoliate too often. Daily is too harsh for your skin, once a week is a good amount.
Tip: If you are using liquid exfoliators, then get a double duty cleanse and exfoliator for those days you will be exfoliatingto not strip everything from your face by only washing it with one cleaning product.
Step 3: If your face is feeling dry and flaky, then you need to moisturize. You should aim to moisturize morning and night after washing your face, some people find that twice a day is too much for their skin, especially people with oily skin. You can get moisturizing wipes, these are probably best for people with normal skin.
Tip: Don’t moisturize without washing your face, you will just be smearing dirt and oil back into your skin.
Tip: With moisturizers, the cheaper they are the less they do, but you don’t need to spend too much money.
Step 4: Eye creams. The eyes are always the first place to show signs of ageing, so use an eye cream when you are moisturizing. The skin around your eyes doesn't have sweat or oil glands and therefore gets dehydrated easily.
Tip: With eye creams you want an anti-ageing one, as that’s what you are trying to fight off.
Step 5: Men always forget that their lips need moisture too. Women carry lip balms around everywhere they go and are always taking care of their lips, so men see lip balms as a feminine thing and probably are reluctant to use them. If your lips are especially dry, you can also get lip exfoliators, these should be used once or twice a week, as your lips have sensitive skin.
Tip: Not only should you moisturize your lips, but get a lip balm with SPF to make sure you don’t get sunburnt lips.
