It’s good to finally see a glimpse of sunshine coming through those grey clouds that have been hanging round for a while. It’s time to pull out those summer dresses and sandals to embrace another few months of glorious summertime fun.

What better way to embrace the sunny feeling than having perfect summer-inspired nails? If you love showing off your nails for all occasions and seasons then you’ll love our easy-to-follow summer nail tutorial.

Step 1: To prepare your hands for the summer, it’s worth applying disposable hand mask on your hands to hydrate and nourish them. Hand masks typically come in a glove form so they’re easy to slip on and off and you would keep them on as long as you would for a face mask – about 15-20 minutes. Once the time is up, remove the hand mask and make sure you rinse any remaining residue off with warm water.

Step 2: Once your hands are dry (and feeling very soft!) and clean, file and shape nails before applying any colour to make sure you get the best out of the design. Apply two coats of clear nail varnish as this will prevent any staining from colored nail polish.

Step 3: Choose summer colored nail polish (pastel shades are good!) and paint on two coats on each finger and thumbs, ensure that you let the first coat dry before applying the second coat.

Step 4: Using a professional nail dotting tool (or a cocktail stick), paint on five dots from the left hand corner of the nail to the middle with a white coloured nail polish. Repeat this step on all fingers and thumbs.

Step 5: Use a nail varnish remover pad to clean off the excess polish on the dotting tool. Next, use a pink coloured nail varnish; draw 5 dots in a circle on the middle of each finger and thumb.

Step 6: Next, apply a silver rhinestone to the middle of the dotted circles using the dotting tool. *Tip* Lightly dip your dotting tool tip in nail glue and place where you would put the rhinestone then pick the rhinestone up with the tip of the tool that will be slightly tacky.

Step 7: Finally, apply two coats of clear nail polish to seal the design and extend longevity.

Ta-Da! Now it’s time to show off your nails in the style of summer. We hope you all have a safe and fun-filled summer this year!
